One out of 47 Utah children have been identified as having an Autism Spectrum Disorder, the highest rate in the country. In 2009, The Children's Center launched our Integrated Autism Program. Throughout the 25-week course, children attend a weekly class to develop social skills that help them successfully interact with others.

Sixty-five percent of the children we treat have parents who are separating or seeking divorce. We can help parents learn to co-parent and assist children as they cope with the changes in family life through our individual, parent-child, and family therapy services.

Loss and death can be very hard for adults to deal with, but they are especially hard for children to understand. Stressful life events like this can affect how children behave, learn, and grow. We offer a number of services that teach children how to deal with losses in their lives.

About 40% of the children we treat have been exposed to domestic violence. Domestic violence poses a serious threat to children's emotional and physical well-being, particularly if the violence is persistent. Our support services offer comfort and guidance to children affected by domestic violence.

Thirty-five percent of the children we treat have been expelled from childcare or preschool because of severe behavior problems. In our Therapeutic Preschool Program, we teach children how to interact positively with peers and caregivers.

New Therapy for Autism
