The Early Childhood Consultation and Training Program
Funded through a combination of grants from the Utah State Office of Child Care/Department of Work Force Services and contracted fees for service, The Early Childhood Consultation and Training Program offers the following services to child care centers, preschools and other programs serving babies and children:
- On-site training for teachers and care-givers emphasizing social-emotional development, positive guidance techniques and developmentally-appropriate practice.
- On-site consultation supporting identified training topics or observe target children or classrooms.
- Technical assistance for programs participating in or wanting to participate in the Baby Steps grant program
- Consultation to program administrators to plan and assist in over-all quality improvement including use of professional development plans, state licensing standards, CDA competency standards, NAEYC accreditation criteria, Infant/Toddler Rating Scales (ITERS) or other measurement and improvement tools.
